Day 1, Level 1 of Shredding

Today was Day 1 of Level 1- Round 2 of Shedding for me. That means this is the SECOND time I am putting my body through this torture exercising for 30 days straight.

I had the notion that it would be easier this go round, but I was mistaken.

True, I am in better shape than the first time.
True, I can lift heavier weights than the first time.
True, I can make it through the cardio segments without having to stop.
True, I can do “Natalie’s” version on all of the ab work.
True, I did NOT collapse huffing and puffing at the end of the workout.

I actually found myself working harder and smarter this time around.  I paid attention to my form and really made sure I was doing each exercise correctly.  I squatted lower, jumped rope higher, and squeezed my abs even time Jillian told me to.

By the end, I was sweating nad my breathing was a little heavier, but I wasn’t huffing and puffing.

I like this Jillian chic.  She knows what she is doing.

How did your first day go?  Is this your first time Shredding or is this a second dose for you?

    Yes! I did it today for the first time. Didn't get to participate last time but I was there today. Found out it's on the fitness section of On Demand so that works out great for me.

    I did pretty good today although with my back problem, I did find the floor exercises a bit much. I may not be able to do them – it causes severe pain (not just under-used muscle pain, either). And the push ups are a no go. Haven't been able to do push ups for 20 years due to an accident that caused severe nerve and joint damage in my elbow and shoulder.

    But all in all – I think it's a good workout. I was actually surprised at how simple of a workout it is – no bizarre exercises or steps and no special equipment except a couple hand weights which I do have. That's always a bonus!

    So I thought I was ready. I did Level 1 for 7 days straight so I figured why wait until day 10 to start level 2. Day 8 was close enough right? Wrong. I thought I would throw up right in my living room. Oh.My.God. I can't belive that I could not catch my breath. What to do? Move back to Level 1 for a few days or press on with Level 2?

    Day 1 Round 2 done.

    Easy the second go, and I used 8 lb weights during the whole work out. Don't get too excited though, I was fired up due to an awful evening! We'll see if I can keep up the 8 lb weights tomorrow!

    great post!!

    I thought I'd be able to follow Nat but there were very few times that actually happened! :( My legs were way sore after but I recovered them by using my lotion after my shower b4 bed. my neck & shoulders are sore this morning so I knoe I need to focus on the ab form better today!

    Okay, last night I did round 2, day 1. It actually went pretty well! I was very happy I could still do all the push ups, and my squats were even a bit lower! Overall it was a great workout and I am glad I am doing it again! It works, and I feel great! I love this blog!!! It's great being part of the sisterhood!! Thank you sisters for all your hard work and time you put into this!

    Count me in round 2 of Shredding… Round 1 was great, i really felt the difference in strenght, maybe not very much in weight or size (only 1 inch lost in my waist) but i didn't watch my diet either . Yes, this stuff still hurts the second time around, i completely agree!
